Hi there! Welcome to Susan Jones Teaching. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher and I was lucky enough to teach first grade for 5 years before taking some time off to raise my two little boys. I recently accepted a part-time literacy position here in Massachusetts and I am thrilled to share my experiences with you.
Years ago I fell in love with sharing my ideas, resources, and experiences from my own classroom in the hopes that it would help inspire teachers all over. I continue to learn so much from my peers, near and far, and find that if we help one another, we can reach so many more students across the world!
In creating my own resources, I like to make learning FUN! When my students are having fun, I am having fun! I also like to challenge my students in ways that make them surprise themselves when they accomplish something new.
When my husband, Parker, and I graduated college in 2010, we packed up everything and traveled cross country to Las Vegas, NV! We figured before we settle down we should have some fun first, and what is more fun than Vegas?!
While living in Vegas, I landed my first teaching job, made lots of friends, and got engaged. After our three fun years, we decided to move back to my hometown of Salem, Massachusetts to settle down and start our family.
And that is just what we did. We have two beautiful boys, Theo & Calvin, who have changed our lives for the better.
