How do you use these in your classroom?
These task cards are a great hands on center for your students to complete either independently or with a partner. When students are moving through math centers, I like to assign these task cards for students to complete. You can also use these in small groups as you guide them through the activity and re-teach as needed.
What is included in this unit?
These task cards are a great way for students to practice double digit addition, both with and without regrouping.
- Popsicle Add and Clip – No Regrouping:Â here students will solve the two digit addition equation with no regrouping and clip the correct answer.
- Base Ten Write and Solve – No Regrouping:Â here students will use an expo marker to write the addition equation that matches the base ten blocks and solve.
- Add and Clip – With Regrouping:Â here students will solve the two digit addition equation with regrouping and clip the correct answer.
- Base Ten Two Digit Addition – With Regrouping:Â here students will use the base ten blocks to add the two digit addition equation. When needing to regroup, they will circle the ones that they are making into a group of 10 and will add the group of 10 in the small box above the tens place in the equation.
- Two Digit Addition Frog Hop – With Regrouping:Â here students will solve the two digit addition equation and draw a line from the frog to the lily pad with the correct answer on it using an expo marker.
Please note: these cards should be laminated so they can be used with dry-erase markers over and over again.
Please note: these task cards are already included in the SJT Math Club.
