In unit 4, you will find over 80 slides designed to do the following:
- explicitly review letter sound-letter name connections and digraphs: wh, sh, ch, th, and ck
- explicitly teach the 1-1-1 FLOSS or Bonus Letter spelling rule
- explicitly teach the glued sound, all
- explicitly teach students how to blend sounds together to read words with bonus letters and the glued sound, all
- explicitly teach students to segment sounds to write words with bonus letters and the glued sound, all
- explicitly teach “trick” words using the heart word method for reading and writing
