Handwriting Practice Pages: Kindergarten & First Grade
These handwriting practice pages are great for kindergarten and first-grade students to practice letter formation. There are a few steps I like to have students take with each of these:
- First, we identify the letter name AND sound by saying the letter name and then using the picture to identify the sound.
- Next, I have students trace the large letters at the top and color in the focus image.
- Then, students will trace the letters on the lines and write their own in between each traceable letter.
- Last, I have students highlight the BEST letter they made on their own. They should be able to explain why they think it is the best.
In this unit, there are 26 pages (one for each letter of the alphabet) for students to practice independently.
