Want to make sure you are hitting the standards while reading one of your favorite read alouds?! This one-page read aloud lesson is ready for you to print and teach while reading a The Name Jar by Yangsook Choi. I love reading this story at the beginning of the year and focusing on both character traits and text-to-self connections.

Each read aloud lesson includes an intro to prepare students for their learning and higher level thinking questions with the page numbers of where to stop in the text. There is also a reading response and writing response sheet included.

In the unit linked above, there are 70 one-page lessons with stopping points and discussion questions for skills taught throughout the year.
